SKAGIT BAY SEARCH & RESCUE
SOUTH SKAGIT COUNTY RESPONSE ZONE
Organized under the auspices of the Skagit County Sheriff's office, Skagit Bay Search and Rescue frequently conducts joint training with other first responders including Anacortes Fire Rescue and North Whidbey Fire Rescue and routinely responds in support of other agencies, such as Washington Parks Service, Swinomish Police and US Coast Guard.
In 2024, SBSAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Skagit County Fire District 13, enhancing our ability to respond to a broader range of emergencies. This partnership enables us to support Fire District 13 in marine-based emergency operations, leveraging their resources and expertise. By working together, we strengthen our capabilities and improve emergency response efforts, ensuring greater safety and service for our community.
